Taxi driver knifed for ‘bad driving’

ALEXANDRA – Taxi driver assaults, stabs another for 'bad driving'.

Alex police are investigating the stabbing of a taxi driver, allegedly by another taxi driver at 9.20pm on 9 September on Richrad Baloyi Avenue.

Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang said the complainant, who was driving a Toyota Avanza, stopped to let out passengers. Behind him, was another known driver with a companion driving in a Toyota Quantum. The two suspects then allegedly proceeded to stop in front of his vehicle.

They approached him, and both accused him of reckless driving before the suspect driver allegedly slapped him across the face while his companion watched. The suspect then took out a knife and allegedly stabbed the complainant in the right forearm and upper arm.

A companion of the complainant then stepped in and blocked a third stabbing attempt aimed at the complainant’s chest by the suspect, who shouted that he wanted to kill the complainant. The suspects then went back to their vehicle and drove off.

No arrests have been made as yet.
