DJ Arch sweeps footballers off their game

ALEXANDRA - DJ Arch Junior continues to woo fans at the McDonald's U14 festival tournaments.

Alexandra’s world-acclaimed toddler sensation, DJ Arch Junior continues to woo footballers at the McDonald’s U14 Tournament festivals in the provinces.

He was the centre of attraction at the recent provincial festivals in Embalenhle township of Secunda in Mpumalanga, and the Alabama Stadium in Klerksdorp in the North West.

In the Embalenhle festival, Mpumalanga hosted Limpopo, while the North West hosted Gauteng at the Alabama Stadium. All the four provinces were choosing their champions to represent them in the national finals set for the end of September and beginning of October at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville outside Pretoria.

Embalenhle sent all its children to the stadium named after it. and so did the Alabama Township in Klerksdorp when the third McDonald’s festival got underway at the Alabama Stadium.

DJ Arch Junior, whose real name is Oratilwe Madumo, was the centre of attraction as football took a back seat when the world-famous son of Alexandra took to the stage to spin his decks for music lovers. He has been mobbed at all the festivals so far, and the organisers of the games had to get the children and well-wishers out of the way so that the DJ could get off the stage after his concerts.

Limpopo province will be represented in the Gauteng national finals by Hudson Secondary School while Mpumalanga will be represented by Sibhulo Secondary School.

Clapham Sports School will represent Gauteng, while Tshwaraganelo Primary School will represent the North West province. Clapham produced champion keeper and captain, Methula Sogoni, who saved three of the four penalties during a shootout with another academy, the Sport School of Excellence. Another Clapham name to remember is that of central defender Rotshidzwa Tshivhenga.
