Ex-lover up for malicious damage

A jilted lover is under investigation by Alex police for malicious damage to property and threatening to assault his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend and her family.

According to spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang, the suspect went to the victim’s family home on 4th Avenue on 23 July with six other men and allegedly demanded his child.

The ex-girlfriend and her mother refused. The suspect then allegedly threatened them with a knife, threatened to shoot the family and insulted the mother.

The family retreated into the house and locked the front steel burglar and wooden doors which the suspect damaged trying to gain entry.

Neighbours intervened and stopped the suspect, but only after he had caused R800 worth of damage to the doors.
