Top SA celebs celebrate Mandela Day at Thusong
ALEXANDRA – Top SA celebs spruce up Thusong Youth Centre on Mandela Day.
In the true spirit of the late great Nelson Mandela, some of South Africa’s celebrities gathered at Thusong Youth Centre in Alexandra to play their part and be of service under the banner of Mandela Day.
Celebrities such as AKA, Da Les, Mpho Popps, Ayanda Thabethe, Shugasmakx, Amunishn, Dj Shimza, were joined by other familiar faces
such as Nompendulo Mkatshwa, president of the Wits Student Representative Council, and socialites Tshepi Vundla, Kefiboo, K Naomi and Shaka Sisulu. The celebrities, brought together by the #ReelStuff campaign, where not shy to get their hands dirty. They spent their 67 minutes refurbishing and cleaning the centre which was in dire need of attention, and received a much-needed facelift which included interior and exterior cleaning, repainting and laying of flower beds.
In the true spirit of Madiba’s legacy, the young leaders took the step in changing the lives of the children in the Alexandra community by giving them a clean and safe space to flourish.
The #ReelStuff campaign aims to profile the greater Johannesburg region and implement special projects and initiatives focusing on the urban youth market.
