Chiefs celebrate 45 years with stunning new kit

Kaizer Chiefs will step into the 2015/16 season in a new home kit that celebrates their 45th anniversary and heralds their illustrious history of winning the most league titles in domestic football.

As they embark on the defence of their premiership title, the team will wear a home jersey with broad gold and black stripes. The new design captures the club’s legacy and spirit, reflecting almost half a century of prestige and success.

A thin black ribbon is featured around the contemporary crew neck collar which sets off the gold shoulders and sleeves, with the option to wear the traditional Chiefs black or gold home shorts and gold socks completing the kit.

“In partnership with Nike, we’ve created a new kit that enhances our image,” said Chiefs marketing director, Jessica Motaung.

“Our supporters will look stylish and our players have a kit that has the best technological advantages,” said Chiefs marketing director.

“While this new kit reflects the club’s heritage, it also benefits from Nike’s innovative technological advances, driving optimal performance and environmental sustainability.”

In the modern game, each player now covers 17 percent more of the pitch than their predecessors five years ago, as well as making 37 percent more sprints during a game. To meet the needs of this faster and more challenging game, Nike has designed an updated kit to enhance performance by allowing players to feel as light and agile as possible. This new lightweight kit was created to work with the body in football motion and encourage even more fluid movement.

By feeling as light, natural and comfortable as possible, the players will be able to focus on the game.
