ALEXANDRA - A Kew man had laid charges of attempted murder at the Alexandra Police Station after cops allegedly shot and injured his 12-year-old daughter next to the Pan Africa Mall in Alex.

A Kew man laid charges of attempted murder at the Alexandra Police Station after cops allegedly shot and injured his 12-year-old daughter next to the Pan Africa Mall in Alex.

According to Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela the 12-year-old girl had gone to the mall with her elder sister when they were allegedly shot with rubber bullets by the police.

The complainant said his daughter came running home crying and claimed that the police had shot and injured her. She showed her father a wound on the right upper shoulder.

He then took his daughter to the Alex Clinic where she was treated and discharged. He then went to the police station to lay attempted murder charges.

Maphakela said no arrests have been made as the police were still investigating the case.
