SuperSport players welcome the ‘smell good’ partnership

SuperSport United has joined forces with Mitchum South Africa as a deodorant and grooming care sponsor to the club.

SuperSport United has struck a ‘smell good’ partnership with deodorant giant Mitchum South Africa to take care of the players and their technical staff during and after practise and match days.

As part of this partnership, which was announced on September 1 at the Supersport channel’s Studio 6 at the MultiChoice complex in Randburg, Mitchum will be the preferred deodorant care and grooming sponsor to the club.

“We are thrilled to join forces with SuperSport United Football Club,” said Mitchum South Africa marketing director Heather Goate.

“This partnership is a testament to our dedication to supporting South African sports and engaging with our consumers in meaningful ways. Just as SuperSport United strives for victory on the field and milestones off the field, Mitchum’s goal is to empower individuals to face their day knowing Mitchum deodorants have their armpits covered for 48-hour sweat protection and giving them confidence, and assurance to not sweat the small things.”

SuperSport United has a rich history of success and a strong following as a top 4 Premier Soccer League brand, making it a perfect match for Mitchum’s aspirations to connect with the broader football community and promote active and healthy lifestyles through sport and football, Goate said.

“We welcome Mitchum South Africa as our official preferred deodorant provider with open and fresh-smelling arms,” said SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews. “This partnership not only provides valuable marketing support to our club but also demonstrates our ongoing dedication to protecting the well-being of our players and promoting the excellence that defines both Mitchum and SuperSport United.”

The partnership will include various engaging initiatives, including fan interactions, social media campaigns, and community outreach programmes, all designed to bring fans closer to the football action and create memorable experiences.

Midfield maestro Lyle Lakay told Alex News the partnership is highly welcomed as a smell-good player is a confident player who believes in himself and can deliver the goods on and off the field of play.

Asked whether this partnership could help propel his side to snatch the title from the domineering Mamelodi Sundowns, Lakay retorted; “The more confident we are, the better chances of success in whatever one does.”
