Alex’s Spartz is still set to follow her dreams

After her Metro FM Music Awards nomination for the Best Jazz Album, Spartz Motlhamme comes back stronger with experience and she continues to shine as she plans a show for her supporters.

After the setback of not bagging the Best Jazz Album at the Metro FM Awards, Spartz Motlhamme has come back strongly and determined with her head held high to muster a big bash for her supporters who carried her through thick and thin.

“Now, I have set my eyes on bettering myself and delivering even more music for my fans who are my pillar of strength and have stood by me through thick and thin and for that, a big music bash is coming their way.

“It was my first time attending an award ceremony and my first time as a nominee, so it was overwhelming, but I feel grateful to have been able to be part of the prestigious awards. I also had fun because my friends and family were in attendance, which made it worthwhile,” Motlhamme said.

Motlhamme believes great advantages can also come from losing, which can often be more significant than those obtained through winning, and though not winning can suggest an irredeemable failure she plans on taking her losses as lessons and a reason to try again with experience.

“I did not win the award, but I’ve moved a step closer to my dreams. Of course, winning would’ve been great but I’m happy I got to be there and have my foot in the door.

‘On the red carpet no one took pictures of me as they didn’t know who I was and it was a bit painful to experience but I take in all the experience with its good and bad.”

The singer has an upcoming show for her supporters as she wants to continue touching people’s hearts with her music– she thought of no better way than letting her supporters in her space and experience her raw self around a bonfire.

“I am working on a show that I will be doing in Alexandra on the 1st of July called Songs around the Fire with Spartz. We will be singing, dancing and sharing an African spirit of music around the fire.”

Motlhamme expressed her gratitude to those who have been supporting her and her journey, ‘Thank you to everyone who voted for me, I appreciate your support. Without you guys the tough times of the industry would’ve been unbearable but when I think of the support, I have experienced from you, I just cannot help but work harder and strengthen my faith in this dream.’
