It is believed Thando’s murder resulted from a road-rage incident when the accused and boys exchanged words over a nasty driving incident and the accused is alleged to have pulled out a gun.

When the boys realised he was armed, they jumped out of the car they were travelling in and ran away. The accused apparently gave chase and caught up with Thando and allegedly shot him in the back of the head and he died on the spot.

The accused, who has not been asked to plead, has appeared several times in court and has been denied bail.
