Thando (20), a Grade 11 learner, was returning to his home in Tsutsumani Village in the early morning of August 28 from a night out with six of his friends when he met his tragic death on the corner of 12th Avenue and Hofmeyer Street.

It is believed Thando’s murder resulted from a road-rage incident when the accused and boys exchanged words over a nasty driving incident and the accused is alleged to have pulled out a gun.
When the boys realised he was armed, they jumped out of the car they were travelling in and ran away. The accused apparently gave chase and caught up with Thando and allegedly shot him in the back of the head and died on the spot.
