A woman was shot and killed, allegedly by two men who broke into her home on Rev Sam Buti Street on May 29.
According to Alexandra Police Station Commander Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela, the suspects apparently fired two shots at the woman and she died on the scene. This occurred at about 19:00, and it is suspected that the perpetrators are the people her husband had played a dice gambling with earlier that afternoon and robbed them of their money.
“The suspects left the scene without taking anything,” Magudulela said.
In another incident, a man was fatally shot at Alex Jazz Club at about 23:00 on the same day. The victim was first shot inside the club but managed to escape outside. The suspects allegedly followed him and apparently shot and killed him.
Magudulela said no arrests have been made in both incidents and police investigations were continuing.
