Malandela ‘takes’ the Fifa World Cup!

Malandela Mighty Heroes takes its SAB League players to view the Fifa World Cup trophy.

Mandela Mighty Heroes got a taste of the Fifa World Cup when the SAB League team had the opportunity to view the iconic winner’s trophy.

The trophy is currently on tour in Mzansi enroute to Qatar for the World Cup which begins on November 21.
Coach Vincent ‘Young Master’ Rammoni led his troops to Maponya Mall in Soweto to view the trophy, and described the experience as ‘one of a lifetime’.

“It was a great experience to witness the giant trophy with our naked eyes as some of us have never seen it live before and we may never see it again.

“As players and coaches, it’s a great ambition as we may never know our destinations in life. We may one day find ourselves as part of that football arena. No one can predict the future and only the Almighty knows. I am sure if that happens to one or more of my players, they will remember me,” Rammoni said.

His words were echoed by the team’s midfield maestro Sibonelo Mkhabela who goes by the nickname ‘Ozil’ after German player Mesut Ozil. “What Malandela did for us is pure magic. I won’t ever forget this day ever in my life,” he said.

Rammoni said they decided to take the entire team to view the trophy as part of a team bonding exercise and also ‘to afford our young and ambitious players the opportunity to be part of the biggest stage of global football’.

“Growing up in the township, things aren’t so easy for us or even easily accessible. This may be the only time in their life and our life that we can come so close to this phenomenal event,” said Rammoni who also goes by the nickname ‘Pep Guardiola’ after Manchester City’s most successful manager.
