Alex musician exposes the raw township life

ALEXANDRA – What obtains in Alexandra is what you are going to get, raw as it is, says Jabz.

Jabulani Zondi, a musician going by the stage name of Jabz is exposing life in Alexandra and the daily challenges the township folk face.

Known as Hambanami Uzobona [walk with me to see for yourself], Jabz streams live video content filmed on a walkabout in the township which is then uploaded on Facebook.

This is a first for Alex and is being pioneered by Zondi in partnership with his high school friend Thabang Madisha of Turbang Studios in Tsutsumani Village.

The live streaming has been running for a couple of months now and has gone viral after it received raving reviews on Facebook and Instagram, and Jabz is already planning his next project.

“My next killer move is already in the oven and should be baked in a few weeks from now. [Hambanami Uzobona] are real live and unedited video visuals that depict the life and conditions in our township that we fondly refer to as Gomorrah due to its chaotic state of affairs.

“I want to stay true to the issues in our township and expose them as they are. I am not going to hire a limousine and pretend to the world that we live in a leafy and glamorous place with five-star hotels when in real fact, sewage runs down our streets,” Jabz said.
