Man hijacked and robbed while delivering parcels

ALEX – Mbatha said that the complainant said that he was supposed to deliver the parcels at Nobuhle hostel in Alexandra.

Detectives are investigating a hijacking that took place on 23 February at about 2.10pm in Alexandra. 

Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the complainant said he was driving his vehicle and delivering parcels to customers when he stopped at 6th Avenue corner Rooth and three guys approached him.

“One of them pointed a firearm at him and told him to get out. They stripped him and took his two cell phones, a Huawei P8 and P10 before driving off with his vehicle,” said Mbatha. 

Mbatha added that the complainant said he was supposed to deliver the parcels at Nobuhle hostel in Alexandra.

The vehicle was later recovered in 18th Avenue in Alexandra.

Authorities were present at the scene and the suspects were still at large. An investigation is underway.
