Owner killed in Alex business robbery
ALEXANDRA – The business robbery took place on 31 August at about 4.30am.
Police detectives are searching for suspects after the owner of a supermarket in Alexandra was killed during a business robbery on 31 August at about 4.30am.
Spokesperson for the Alexandra Police Station, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, said that it is alleged that three male suspects broke a wall at the back of the shop to gain entry.
He said the deceased is believed to be a 35-year-old male. “He was shot twice, once on his chest and once on the abdomen. Two cartridges were found at the scene,” explained Mbatha.
Mbatha also said that the suspects took R5 000 and fled the scene. A business robbery and murder case has been opened for further investigation.
