Local store in Alex comes to the rescue of fire victims

ALEX – Boxer Superstore in Alexandra springs to the aid of fire victims in 3rd Avenue.

Boxer Superstores in Alexandra, working closely with charity NPO Afrika Tikkun, rushed to the aid of 15 families that were victims of a recent fire.

The fire started in the early evening hours of 14 June and left two people injured and 15 homes destroyed. For the fire victims, a place to sleep and food to feed their loved ones became an immediate concern.

Boxer Superstores and Afrika Tikkun, quickly sprang into action to pack and deliver some emergency food relief parcels to the families.

Boxer Alex Superstore manager Tebogo Moloto said, “When we heard about the fire, we knew we had to help. Our superstore was able to quickly curate and pack emergency food parcels.

“Thanks to our wonderful partners Afrika Tikkun, we were able to quickly deliver those parcels, along with extra blankets to the families.”
