Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements assesses #AlexFire damage, lends support to 20 families
ALEX – There are 20 families affected by the fire that ripped through the Organic Market Settlement in Alex, near Bramley.
This afternoon was a time for assessment and rebuilding for the 20 Alex families who lost their homes in a blaze yesterday morning (17 April).
Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements, Urban Planning and Cogta, Lebogang Maile, put his boots on the ground in Alex’s Organic Market Informal Settlement in a bid to lend support to the 20 families who lost their homes in the fire.
Maile was joined by senior officials from Provincial Disaster Management and the City of Johannesburg. Together, they assessed the damage and considered what support the Gauteng Provincial Government could lend.
