Police investigate early morning robbery of driving school couple

ALEXANDRA- Armed robber ties homeowner's hands, legs and walks away with R5800

Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the incident occurred at the victims’ home in the early morning of 25 March.

“They were woken up at around 3am by a lone intruder who demanded money while shining a torch in their faces. The suspect tied the husband’s legs and hands with shoelaces and took the wife outside to the couple’s motor vehicle. He returned with her into the house after a short while and repeated his demand for money,” Mbatha said.

The husband then directed the suspect to his wallet in a jacket from which he took R5 800 in cash which was collected from that day’s clients. The woman wasn’t harmed and helped to release her husband after the suspect had departed.
