Rwanda beckons for inspired Alex youth
ALEXANDRA – Alex youth can join Rwanda's Commonwealth Youth Forum dialogue.
Alex youth and their South African counterparts have a chance to influence major global issues at the upcoming 2020 Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Rwanda.
The event will be in the capital Kigali on 20 to 23 June and convened by the Rwanda government and the Commonwealth Youth Council under the theme: 2020 Commonwealth Youth Forum is taking charge of our future.
The Commonwealth Secretariat anticipates applications from youth who will be part of 500 young people from 54 member countries who will comprise the Youth Commonwealth Forum. In a statement, the secretariat said, “They will confront and present to leaders attending the summit, some of the biggest challenges facing the world like climate change, gender equality and peace building, explore solutions to key challenges and opportunities facing young people like unemployment and innovation.”
Interested candidates should:
- Be Commonwealth citizens between 18 and 29 years of age
- Have experience in youth advocacy or development
- Represent a youth organisation or special interest group like indigenous young people, disabled or rural youth.
