JRA warns of false job vacancy scam

JOBURG – JRA says they have under no circumstances advertised for external positions as advertised on a particular Facebook page.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is concerned by false job vacancies advertised on social media in Gauteng.

Head of public relations at JRA Sanele Zondi said, “The JRA has under no circumstances advertised for these external positions as advertised on this Facebook page. Should there be any vacancies advertised by the JRA, due process will be followed as per usual. Importantly, the JRA does not use social media to advertise vacancies but [only on] the JRA website and [in] national newspapers.”

Acting managing director of JRA Siyabonga Nodu said, “The JRA follows internal processes where positions are approved as per the structure and in order to be advertised they must be funded. And, as the JRA, we therefore wish to distance ourselves from such a scam.”

Zondi thanked the public for alerting them of the scam.
