Cricket South Africa’s CEO is suspended

JOBURG – Thabang Moroe has been suspended as CSA's CEO amid allegations of misconduct.

Cricket South Africa’s CEO, Thabang Moroe, has been suspended by his board immediately, with full pay, as from 6 December.

This, the entity said, is based on allegations of misconduct, with a full investigation to follow.

This comes after weeks, and even months, of allegations of maladministration in the country’s cricket governing body, ranging from player payment disputes to credit card irregularities, lack of communication with the South African Cricketer’s Associations (Saca), poorly implemented funding of the Newlands Stadium redevelopment and further issues that even lead the Central Gauteng Lions and the Gauteng Cricket Board to host a public meeting about CSA’s woes and where the province called for Moroe’s resignation, the restructure of his board and an independent investigation into the entity.
Much of the organisation’s woes have been blamed on Moroe and CSA president Chris Nenzani.
