Police arrested a Pholosho Junior Secondary School learner after he had stabbed a fellow learner outside school premises on 5 October.

It is alleged that the 15-year-old stabbed his fellow learner with a knife after a group fight erupted between two groups of learners.

Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie said, “It was around 11am when the witness, who works at the school, saw learners fighting. The witness tried to separate the groups that were fighting until one group member withdrew a knife and stabbed a fellow learner from the other group.

“When teachers arrived, the learner had been stabbed on the left part of his body. The suspect and his accomplices ran away from the scene leaving the victim fighting for his life.”

Malatjie said the victim was rushed to the local clinic where he was treated and the suspect was arrested and detained in the juvenile detention centre.
