Mkhonto admonishes scammers

ALEXANDRA – Beware of fraudsters selling Pikitup jobs

Applicants for positions as cleaners for Pikitup were advised not to pay alleged fraudsters promising to secure them jobs.

DA proportional representative councillor Shadrack Mkhonto said three residents had approached him claiming that they had been told to present their CVs and pay R300 in cash by people who promised this would enhance their employment prospects.

Mkhonto said the jobs which were advertised widely will see 10 suitable candidates screened and employed at the regional level and deployed in the wards they reside.

Mkhonto admonished the fraudsters for taking advantage of the unemployed who were desperate.

He urged the victims of the scammers to seek advice from the local council office on 8th Avenue or regional office on Daisy Street, Sandton.
