“I’ve travelled the world and I have performed for different kinds of audience all over the world during the past 20 years of my career as an artist. I’ve always had a voice in me that said people were craving for African stories all over the world.

“In October last year when I came back from one of my overseas work trips I and my friend Siviwe Wasa decided to give attention to this voice by forming Palesa Africa, a theatre show, that will tell the African women stories to the world. Palesa Africa is made up of seven women who share the highs and lows, the struggles and challenges faced by women in Africa.”

She added that the group had started rehearsing the scripts and were aiming to take the show to South African theatres next year.

“I’m very happy that we’ve finally manged to put things together. We want to help nurturing young talent through our experience.

“We are aware of challenges ahead especially funding of the project, however, we are very optimistic about the future of Palesa Africa that it will achieve its objectives despite those challenges.”
