Black Poison founder Eric Ndaba is determined to mine Alex’s football diamonds but wants sponsors in his journey

ALEXANDRA – Black Poison is seeking partners to help take the career of young boys to stardom.

Eric Ndaba’s love and passion for the beautiful game, especially the abundance of raw talent in Alexandra, saw him abandon his home Kasi of White City in Soweto to settle in the ‘Mother of All Townships’ to dig up the rough diamonds.

Mentally armed with this burning desire to unearth the rough diamonds of this iconic township, Ndaba gave up the comfort of his parental home to settle in the Phase1 section of a once vibrant Alex.

In the past, talented musicians, artists, dancers, actors, boxers, footballers, runners and funny men, as comedians were popularly known in yesteryears, all packed up their bags from the four corners of the country and headed to Jozi, and Alexandra in particular to launch their careers that propelled them to stardom.

It was no different to the humble Ndaba, whose Black Poison team is within sniffing distance of being promoted to the SAB League, and whose ultimate goal is to play in the Premier Soccer League’s Absa Premiership.

Ndaba fears that his lifelong dream of having his team play in the prestigious Absa Premiership may be scuppered by his daily battles with cash flow problems as he barely manages to make ends meet with his amateur club.

“My dream is to make this as smooth and seamless as possible, not just for me and my dream but for the rough diamonds that I have unearthed, one of which is Nkosingiphile Nzimande, who is a prolific striker destined for a bright future with good nurturing,” he said.

Nzimande is currently the leading goal scorer of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association Promotional League with 27 goals to his credit. His nearest rival is Rangers’ Paul Maluleke with 24, in a 14-team league that is left with three games before its climax.

To ensure that raw talent such as this is given a sustainable platform to realise their dreams and careers, Ndaba issued a passionate appeal to those with spare funds to ‘put their money where their mouth is’.

“I am appealing to whoever wants to join us or partner with and or even donate something to us to help cultivate and sustain the lives of these boys and take them away from mischief and other social ills to please come forward and work with us at Black Poison and avert other nyaope disasters for our future Bafana stars,” Ndaba said.

Black Poison, which has unearthed other stars such as Ayanda Sithole who is currently on the books of Orlando Pirates, was formed in 2011. Sithole was in the first crop of U11players when the team was formed.
