It’s Maluleke versus Nzimnde in the race for the golden boot of the Promotional League

ALEXANDRA -– Nkosingiphile Nzimande of Black Poison believes he will get the better of his rival to bag the golden boot award at the end of the ANLFA Promotional League.

Despite not scoring after being put on a tight leash by Laz FC, the leading marksman of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association’s Promotional League, Nkosingiphile Nzimande of Black Poison still has both eyes firmly set on the golden boot.

Nzimande has banged in 24 goals for the table toppers so far with his nearest rival trailing him on 21 with six matches remaining.

“I want to score more goals in the remaining six matches to end the season at thirty-something. That’s the target I have set myself and I consider it realistic and doable,” said the lanky striker who was a tightly marked man in their game against Laz.

He added that most of the defenders were now closely watching him but “little do they know that keeping a tight leash on me opens the door for teammates to score, as was the case today against Laz FC. They put two defenders to monitor each and every move I make and I passed the ball a few times resulting in [my teammates] scoring.”

Nzimande recently challenged his rival on the scoring charts, Rangers’ Paul Maluleke to score five goals to match or even surpass his tally of 20 at the time. Maluleke had banged in 16 and took up the challenge and netted five times against Blue Aces to take his tally to 21. Nzimande has subsequently netted four to take his tally to 24 while Maluleke has been stuck one 21.

It’s Maluleke versus Nzimande for the golden boot and whoever finally gets to be crowned, only time will tell.
