Man found hanged at Madala Hostel

ALEXANDRA – Police have urged the public to report all criminal activities to the police and refrain from taking the law into their hands.

The residents of Madala Hostel are still in shock after two people were killed in the hostel on 17 March this year.

According to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Stephen Malatjie, a docket of the inquest, as well as a case of murder, has been opened after two men were killed in the hostel.

“On the 17th of March, we had an incident in Madala Hostel where three people who had been drinking beer together had an argument that led to the death of one and left the other one fighting for his life in hospital.

“It is alleged that the argument, which heated up, led to one of them using a sharp instrument to stab his two uncles,” Malatjie said.

“One man died on the scene and the other was rushed to the hospital and was later discharged.”

It is alleged that the perpetrator then ran away from the scene and came back later in the day and was spotted by some residents.

“The man who is suspected to have stabbed the two men was later found hanged in the premises of the hostel later on in the day,” concluded Malatjie.
