Stars coach says he’s over the moon after collecting six points in two days

ALEXANDRA - Shedrack Cholo, coach of Norwood Young Stars, says he is happy to have collected six points from two matches in two days.

Norwood Young Stars coach Shedrack Cholo is over the moon after collecting six points in two games over two days.

Cholo was speaking in an interview with Alex News on 10 March after his side collected maximum points in their 3–1 victory in the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association (ANLFA) Promotional League match against Rangers FC at the Alexandra Stadium.

The team had collected another three points on 9 March in their game against Laz FC, formerly Howza De Laz FC, in their clash at the Altrek Stadium in the ANLFA Promotional League.

“I am quite excited to have collected all six points in two days from two matches,” he said.

“What more can I ask for from the boys? They are improving with each game and their fitness levels are at an all-time high.

“If we can keep the momentum, I am certain we can go all the way to win promotion at the end of the league. I am just keeping my fingers crossed we’re able to sustain what we have just started and then surprise everybody.”

The evenly balanced and entertaining game against Rangers saw Stars opening their account from a Jules Kalamba strike that gave Rangers goalkeeper Bhekumuzi Sigeza no chance after a ‘champagne’ pass from Sibusiso Mavundla.

Stars clung to the slender lead until halftime despite clearing the ball twice from their goal line.

In the second stanza, both teams picked up from where they had left off and it was Rangers’ Happy Nnane who brought parity to the scoreline.

However, two quick goals in the dying minutes of the game gave Stars the rare win. The first goal came via the boot of Puseletso Masemola while the other was scored by Scara Vilakazi.

Other results of the ANLFA Promotional League were:

Akeric Football Institution 0 versus Ext 7 FC 1

DRA FC 7 versus Gomtown Boyz FC 2

Boss FC 1 versus Gauteng FC 2

Laz FC 0 versus Norwood Young Stars FC 1

Ma-Afrika FC 2 versus Boss United FC 0

Laz FC 1 versus Royal Lions FC 7

Blue Aces FC 0 versus Black Poison FC 2

Gauteng FC 4 versus Phomolong All Stars FC 2

Rangers FC 1 versus Norwood Young Stars FC 3
