Alexandra Police Station upbeat on arrests

ALEXANDRA – Community helps narrow criminals' world.


The Alexandra Police Station commended residents on the arrest of 16 people suspected of a range of crimes from 23 to 30 January.

Police station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said, “With your cooperation, we are sending a serious message to criminals, eliminating every one

of them and making their paradise a living hell.

“We will rule our neighbourhood and make Alex’s streets peaceful very soon.

“Let’s give them a dose of their medicine in compliance with Police Minister Beki Cele who urged us to give them sleepless nights and narrow their world.”

Malatji said this in relation to the station-community partnership which includes individual reporting, social crime prevention and other units and, the community policing forum.

The cases referred to are:

  • 2 for housebreaking and theft
  • 1 for business breaking and theft
  • 1 for attempted robbery
  • 4 for armed robbery
  • 2 for murder
  • 2 for rape
  • 3 for hijacking and possession of stolen property
  • 1 for common robbery.
