The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, released the Class of 2018’s matric results at the Auditorium at Vodacom World in Midrand this evening, 3 January.
This comes after the IEB National Senior Certificate exam results were released at midnight.

Motshekga revealed that Gauteng was the top performing province with 87.9% pass rate. She said that this showed an improvement of 2.8% from 2017.
She said except for Limpopo, all of the provinces performed over 70%.
The Class of 2018, with progressed learners, achieved a pass rate of 78.2%, said Motshekga.
