Restaurant assault suspect arrested

ALEXANDRA – Upon realising that the victim was succumbing to his injuries they took him to the local clinic where they dumped him in the admission area and ran away.

 

The Alexandra police arrested one of the suspects involved in a murder after a man was assaulted and later died in the local clinic on 8 October.

According to Stephen Malatjie, the spokesperson at Alexandra Police Station, the victim was eating in one of the local fast foods outlets when he was allegedly assaulted by two men at about 10pm after an argument erupted between the three.

“It is said that the pair who found the deceased eating, assaulted him and upon realising that the victim was succumbing to his injuries they took him to the local clinic where they dumped him in the admission area and ran away. One suspect was later arrested and charged with murder after the police found him in possession of a stolen vehicle and unlicensed firearm.,” Malatjie said.

The police said they were hot on the heels of the second suspect while a further investigation linking the first suspect to other cases was underway.
