Livhuwani Miswe (21) was found guilty and sentenced for perjury. This after she lied to the police about a rape in an attempt to get back at a man who she slept with voluntarily expecting that he would give her money afterwards. The fling occurred on 23 April at an unspecified location in the township.

When he hadn’t coughed up three days later, she reported him to the police as having raped her prompting an investigation. When pressed about the details, she backtracked and wanted to withdraw the case but instead, the police charged her with perjury.
