Alex Police Station handled 120 criminal offences including arrests for rape, attempted murder and assaults in the week ending 11 March.
Captain Allie Kodisang, police spokesperson, said reported priority crimes were:
- 1 for rape
- 1 for business robbery
- 1 business burglary
- 5 for housebreaking and theft
- 4 for robbery with a firearm
- 4 for motor vehicle hijacking
- 2 for theft from motor vehicle.

Other crimes were:
- 2 for attempted murder
- 5 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 8 for common assault
- 2 for common robbery
- 5 for theft from motor vehicle
- 7 for general theft
- 5 for malicious damage to property.
- The following arrests were made:
- 3 for attempted murder
- 1 for rape
- 14 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 6 for common assault
- 7 for malicious damage to property
- 1 for business burglary
- 1 for shoplifting
- 2 for general theft
- 4 for common robbery
- 4 for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition
- 1 for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle
- 23 for drug-related offences
- 1 for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
