Three crew members of a delivery company hijacked and robbed at gunpoint

ALEXANDRA – Delivery crew hijacked, robbed while looking for Alex customer.

Three crew members of a delivery company driving in a Nissan bakkie were hijacked and robbed of all goods at gunpoint on 6th Avenue mid-morning on 8 February.

Alex police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said, “The victims parked the vehicle to deliver vehicle seats and bolts and nuts next to the address provided by a recipient. When they couldn’t find the place, they asked neighbours who declined knowledge of him. “As they searched, a suspect approached the driver who had remained in the vehicle, pointed a gun at him and ordered him to shift to the middle. The suspect got into the vehicle and guarded the driver.”

Kodisang added that, when the other crew members returned, two other suspects standing at the vehicle’s passenger side forced them into the vehicle and the three victims were sandwiched. After driving for a short distance, the suspects stopped the vehicle and offloaded all the goods including the seats, 21 cartons of books, 44 boxes of biscuits and other unspecified items all valued at R7 500. The crew was then ordered to drive off and went to report the incident. The incident is under investigation.
