Two bright sparks from the Class of 2017 at St Mary’s School in Waverley have landed themselves lucrative Allan Gray Fellowships.

At the awards of the prestigious fellowships to Keitumetse Pule and Khethiwe Sibanyoni, Kathy Mittendorf, head of marketing at the school, said the was extremely proud of the duo’s achievement. “This is the seventh year in a row in which pupils from St Mary’s School have been awarded Allan Gray Fellowships.”.
Keitumetse received four distinctions in her final matric examinations and Khethiwe, two.
Mittendorf added that Khethiwe was also awarded a victrix honorum blazer for achieving academic, service and cultural honours blazers, making her only the third girl in St Mary’s 130-year history to be entitled to wear such a blazer.

The fellowship covers full tuition, books, residence and a living allowance for an undergraduate degree at a South African university.
