Mashigo’s murder takes top priority – police

ALEXANDRA – Police are investigating a case of premeditated murder after the death of local businessman Mbopha Mashigo.

 

A manhunt for the suspect who shot and killed local businessman Mbopha Mashigo is still underway, police said. Mashigo was gunned down at his shop on 3rd Avenue on New Year’s day by an unknown man.

Alex police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the case was top of their priority list.

“We have pulled out all stops to make sure that he is captured,” Kodisang said. Footage of the incident has emerged.

“With the footage, it is only a matter of time until we find him because there is a possibility that people might know him.”

So far, nobody has come forward with new information.

“The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, therefore citizens should not attempt to apprehend him themselves.”

He urged citizens to contact their nearest police station or the Crimestop number.
