An 18th Avenue man seemingly incensed by a neighbour who knocked on the door of a shared toilet while he was in it, was arrested for malicious damage to property.
Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the offence occurred at about 8.30pm on 29 September. When the victim knocked on the toilet door, the suspect became irate, swore at the victim and told him that he was stupid.
When the victim asked why he was abusing him, the suspect came out of the toilet and tried to assault the victim who escaped and locked himself in his house. The suspect followed and broke the door and windows of the victim’s house causing damage worth about R1 500.
Further investigation will determine if when he will appear in court.
