Search begins for three-township beauty pageant

ALEXANDRA – The search is on for contestants of the Miss Alex versus Miss Thembisa versus Miss Soweto 2017 beauty pageant.

The search has begun for young models who are interested in participating in a prestigious beauty pageant that pits models in Gauteng’s three historic townships against each other

These townships are Alexandra, Thembisa and Soweto and this event will mark the third edition of this prestigious modelling event which was conceptualised in 2015.

Organiser of the pageant, Marks Bernards of Black Rose Academy, an Alex-based modelling agency, said the pageant will take place on 21 October at the Naledi Hall in Soweto.

“We are looking for models who are interested in taking part in the prestigious event. Models wishing to enter should be between the ages of 18 to 28 years with a passion for representing their beloved communities,” Bernards said.

Interested models are asked to email their name, surname, age, contact details, two full-size photos and another two half size photos to blackroseacademy48@gmail.com

Bernards said the aspiring contestants should not have any visible tattoos, be in possession of a matric certificate, and have no criminal record.

Models should also have a passion for helping orphans and other vulnerable members of their communities, be business minded and must have participated in other pageants before for the sole reason of experience in the show.
