Still no end to the scourge of rape in Alex

ALEXANDRA – Suspects wanted for rape, one in public and another despite a brother's admonition.

Two male suspects are wanted by the Alex Police for the alleged rape of two women in separate incidents.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the first incident occurred from midnight to early morning on 14 April at the suspect’s 6th Avenue home. The suspect allegedly approached the victim at a tavern and told her ‘not to have any other men’ as she was his wife. When she declined, he allegedly assaulted the victim and forced her to accompany him to his place where he forcibly undressed and allegedly raped her overnight without a condom. This, despite his brother’s discouragement. He released her early the morning.

The second incident occurred at 10pm on 16 April in Extension 9. The victim was with four friends when the suspect approached and threatened to kill them if they didn’t hand over their cellphones and money. Afterwards, he forced them to lie down and singled out the victim who he forcibly undressed and allegedly raped in public without a condom. When he was done, he walked away.
