More than 220,000 South African engineering and metal workers have launched a strike over wages. Members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa and other smaller unions today marched in cities including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Hundreds of NUMSA members also gathered in Port Elizabeth's city centre and in East London.
