Toys for the Door of Hope family

Williams Hunt The Glen donates toys to Door of Hope.

Williams Hunt The Glen Isuzu has been involved with Door of Hope for a couple of years.

This time around it donated playground equipment to the children’s home.

Present at the handover were Wessel Marais and Rochelle Erasmus from Williams Hunt The Glen Isuzu.

“We aim to give back as much as we possibly can. Isuzu South Africa has a child life programme and, with their support, we have been able to raise funds even during the Covid-19 crisis,” said Marais.

He said they identified the need for toys to keep the children busy during these difficult times.

“We helped to repair the building and donated food and appliances specifically for Door of Hope. It’s not only this children’s home we take care of, but we are also involved with St Mary’s Children’s Home, where we embarked on major projects.”

He said they are also looking at future projects with Door of Hope and if the NPO meets the criteria, they will look at other opportunities to assist.

“Door of Hope is very close to our hearts. We have come a long way with them. We have also involved our staff to assist with some of the projects, like painting, cleaning and other projects that needed to be done at the home. We allow them to be part of these projects to remind them that their assistance is important. It has touched their hearts and seeing that there are children who face challenges, make them appreciate life more,” he said.

Hannah Thompson from Door of Hope said they are deeply grateful for people who provide for their children.

“We are very thankful for the toys from Williams Hunt The Glen Isuzu. It will make a huge difference. Our children need to play and have toys. We are grateful for William Hunt for always making us their priority and giving us what we need,” said Thompson.

Present on the day were Colin Levin (Playon), Laura Thomas (Door of Hope), Sony Kabembe (Door of Hope), Hannah Thompson (Door of Hope), Wessel Marais (Williams Hunt) and Rochelle Erasmus (Williams Hunt).
