22 Niche Community Market is a diverse group of creative sellers and food traders. The market is open every Saturday at the Walkerville Showgrounds from 9am to 2pm. Stall holders sell products like honey, jams, hand-made natural soaps, plants, fresh produce, aloe creams, cookies and biscuits, biltong, koeksisters, fudge and candy floss as well as a variety of crafted goods. Fresh food vendors include Asian food, boerewors rolls, vetkoek and Indian food. Pop in at the gin bar, enjoy craft beer and ciders and just chill out. The market is pet friendly. 23 Simply Fresh Organic Market runs from 10am to 4pm at Mall of the South, Entrance 9, every last Sunday of every month. Look out for organic vegetables, artisan bread, free-range eggs and chicken, cheese, Lindt, cake, gluten-free cake, gourmet coffee, pastries, mocktails, gourmet sauces, smoothies, Mediterranean delicacies, raw honey and unique gifts.

29 Blue Pea Country Market is open at Rietvlei Zoo Farm every Saturday from 8am to 1pm. Entrance to the market is free. Come and support local farmers, artists, bakers, business owners and chefs, to name a few. Products on offer are raw honey, free-range chicken and eggs, fresh fruit and veggies, organic fertiliser (worm tea), biltong, nuts, yoghurt, olives, feta cheese, pet food and treats, arts and crafts, delicious food stalls, sauces and condiments, baked goods, health and wellness products and various products from local businesses. 1 Jozi Urban Market is taking place. Stalls include gourmet coffee, craft beer and gin, fine wines, cocktails, exotic multi-cultural food, live music, local fashion and art. This urban attraction is most definitely the best hangout on the first Sunday of every month. Jozi Urban Market is situated on the fifth floor covered car park rooftop of Gold Reef Casino. The market runs from 10am to 3pm, giving you ample time to catch a meal, relax while sipping a craft gin or beer in the chill area, listen to soft live jazz or have family fun in the free Seeff Nerf Battle Zone. There is something for everyone, including car and fitness enthusiasts.

7 Stepping Stone Hospice’s next ‘Movie under the Stars’ evening will see the ever popular 2019 The Lion King as the main attraction. Be sure to book your ticket at R100 per person with children under the age of six entering free. The movie night takes place on March 7 from 5pm at Reading Country Club, 40 Fore Street, New Redruth. Bring along your picnic blankets and chairs. Popcorn, pancakes, boerewors rolls and hamburgers will be on sale. 7 Bracken Family Fun Day on March 7 from 9am to 2pm at Jackson Dam in Brackenhurst, to raise funds for non-profit organisations in the Alberton area. There will be fun things to do for everyone, from a crafters’ market and food, to face painting, children’s fitness gym and more.
