Plans in place for Ward 38
Residents should also expect the ward committee to drive initiatives which are aimed at promoting a safer community.
Plans for Ward 38 were put in place in a meeting chaired by Ward 38 councillor Malcolm Maifala on January 23 at Alberton Civic Centre.
During their first meeting, he introduced initiatives that will encourage the community to be part of the solution. Committee members were taken through an agenda which focused on service delivery issues and ways of improving Ward 38.
Objectives
In his presentation, Maifala highlighted that they intend to promote excellent service delivery. He also stated that they will introduce an easier councillor engagement platform for the community.
“I recently had my first Open Door Wednesday and it was a success. The simplicity is that there’s no need for an appointment, residents can wake up and make time to see me. This year we will also have onsite ward committee meetings in an attempt to address service delivery concerns,” said Maifala.
He also said they will have projects that are aimed at educating residents about how council functions and how residents can access services offered by council.

Residents should also expect the ward committee to drive initiatives which are aimed at promoting a safer community.
“To encourage participation, the community can also access minutes of every ward committee meeting at the Brackenhurst Library during business hours,” he said.
