12 until January 5, 2020, Joburg Zoo Festival of Lights features a collection of illuminated life-size animal characters with classical, harmonious performances, food and craft markets for visitors. 14 Niche Community Market is a diverse group of creative sellers and food traders. The market is open every Saturday at the Walkerville Showgrounds from 9am to 2pm. Stall holders sell products like honey, jams, hand-made natural soaps, plants, fresh produce, aloe creams, cookies and biscuits, biltong, koeksisters, fudge and candy floss as well as a variety of crafted goods. Fresh food vendors include Asian food, boerewors rolls, vetkoek and Indian food. Pop in at the gin bar, craft beer and ciders and just chill out. The market is pet friendly. It has 35 interesting stalls, including gourmet coffee, craft beer and gin, fine wines, cocktails, exotic multicultural food, live music, local fashion and art, this urban attraction is most definitely the best hangout on the first Sunday of every month. The Jozi Urban Market is situated on the fifth floor covered car park rooftop of Gold Reef Casino, which offers a spectacular view of Johannesburg. The market runs from 10am to 3pm, giving you ample time to catch a meal, relax while sipping a craft gin or beer in the chill area, listen to soft live jazz or have family fun in the free Seeff Nerf Battle Zone. There is something for everyone, including car and fitness enthusiasts.
