Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a must-see for young and old

This classic children’s book has stood the test of time and is still as popular today as it was when it was first published over 50 years ago.

This is a must-see for the whole family so book your tickets now for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory show at the National Children’s Theatre (NCT).

Based on the book by Roald Dahl, this delightful story runs through the school holidays until December 22.

This classic children’s book has stood the test of time and is still as popular today as it was when it was first published over 50 years ago.

It has lost none of its appeal in the dramatisation onstage by Richard George, with the approval of Roald Dahl himself.

It’s a first for NCT, and a first for the play to be staged in South Africa.

Join Charlie Bucket on his adventure of a lifetime. His plain, drab life is about to be sweetened with colour and confection beyond his wildest dreams.

He and his beloved grandpa embark on a mesmerising joyride through a world of pure imagination.

All your favourite (and non-favourite!) Roald Dahl’s characters come to life onstage, including Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, TV Mike, the other grandpa and the grandmas, Willy Wonka and, of course, Charlie himself.

Roberto Pombo (Willy Wonka), Taryn Bennet, Yatho Kraft, Dewald Vermeulen and Liam Chawasema.
