All about wetlands and water birds at Flufftail Festival

THE annual Flufftail Festival will take place at the Johannesburg Zoo on February 9 from 10am, where all are invited to learn more about water, wetlands and water birds.

With World Wetlands Day on February 2 and World Water Day on March 22, the Flufftail Festival is meant to educate the public on water, wetlands and water birds. Here, you can learn about the importance thereof, how they function and the role they play in the environment – especially with regards to reducing the impact of climate change.

The extreme weather conditions experienced throughout the country is a reminder for constant education on the importance of water conservation. There is much to be learned about it at this year’s event.

As part of the Flufftail Festival, hundreds of learners will be in attendance while working through educational activities on water, wetlands and water birds. Hundreds of community members will also have an opportunity to explore the Johannesburg Zoo and participate in these activities.
