Non-clutter gifts to give

As the festive season approaches, people are rushing around to buy gifts.

During all the chaos, some recipients may just pack away the gift and never use it, leaving it to take up space in their home.

Here are some gifts that are inexpensive and wonā€™t clutter up homes.

For the kids

  • Tickets to an amusement park, zoo, museum or science centre.
  • Tickets to a sports game or concert.
  • Enrolment in an activity, lesson or class theyā€™ll love.
  • Movie tickets.
  • Passes to an indoor playground, trampoline park, water park, mini golf course or go-kart track.
  • Craft or art supplies.
  • Craft kits or science experiment kits.
  • Treats they love. Most kids love receiving some special snacks or treats as a gift.
  • Movie night baskets. Include everything for a fun family movie night.

For women

  • Chocolate. Get high-quality chocolate for her to enjoy guilt-free.
  • Wine. Find out what her favourite wine is.
  • Gift cards.
  • The gift of time. Give the gift of time together to your mother, grandmother or wife. Take them out to a meal and spend time talking and listening to whatā€™s going on in their lives.
  • Events tickets for a concert, play, ballet or for something that you know she enjoys.
  • Classes or workshops. These can include ballroom dancing, quilting or photography workshops. Pay attention to what interests her and plan accordingly.
  • Spa package. A massage, pedicure, manicure, facial. All are lovely pampering gifts.
  • Family photo session. Specialty family photos are so nice, but not always splurged on. If there are older kids, plan the day so they can all attend and mom can get a photo of everyone.
  • Monthly flower delivery. Flowers are lovely, can be enjoyed and then tossed without guilt after they have expired.

For men

  • Tools. Drill bits and saw blades always need to be replaced. A gift card to a hardware store is a great idea so he can purchase his own tools or get himself a high-quality tool that he needs.
  • Food. Men appreciate homemade food such as quick breads, cookies, biltong and nuts.
  • Gift cards.
  • Fishing gear.
  • Tickets to an upcoming sport game.
  • For the golfer, get a gift certificate for a round of golf or some time at the driving range.
  • Lessons or classes. This can range from cooking to martial arts, golfing, or perhaps even ballroom dance lessons with his significant other.
