For younger children, there’s the animated Christmas family-adventure Elliot the Littlest Reindeer. And, Peter Jackson fans will be pleased to hear that his epic new fantasy-adventure, Mortal Engines, arrives at Nu Metro The Glen this week.

Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse (10-12PG)

ADVENTURE: More than one can wear the mask. Brooklyn teen Miles Morales shows off the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

This new superhero action-adventure introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask. Miles’ life becomes complicated when he is bitten by a radioactive spider, and he finds himself developing superpowers, which includes venom strike, camouflage, sticking to objects, incredible hearing, Spidey sense, and much more. Meanwhile, the city’s nefarious criminal mastermind Kingpin has developed an ultra-secret nuclear super collider which opens up a portal to other universes, pulling different versions of Spider-Man (including an older Peter Parker, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham and anime Peni Parker) into Miles’ world.

Second Act (13 LV)

NEW: Second Act is an upcoming American romantic comedy film directed by Peter Segal and written by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Justin Zackham.

Second Act is a comedy in the vein of Working Girl and Maid in Manhattan. Jennifer Lopez stars as Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts and that it is never too late for a “second act”.

Elliot the Littlest Reindeer (PG)

ANIMATION: Parents need to know that Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer is an animated holiday movie that’s a modern take on the classic story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

When one of Santa’s reindeer suddenly announces his retirement, he needs to find a replacement and fast! Against all odds, Elliot and his best friend Hazel set out to prove that he is the horse for the job. As Elliot and Hazel take on the North Pole reindeer try-outs, Hazel learns that Christmas, as we know it, may be headed for disaster. Meanwhile, back at the farm, a potential new owner has plans that threaten the lives of their friends. Elliot is faced with the biggest decision of his life: save his friends, or follow his dreams and save Christmas. Maybe he doesn’t have to choose; after all, big dreamers dream big!

Mortal Engines (13 V)

MORTAL ENGINES: Mortal Engines is the first of four novels in Philip Reeve’s quartet of the same name. The book focuses on a futuristic, steampunk version of London, now a giant machine striving to survive on a world running out of resources.

Thousands of years after civilisation was almost destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted, and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy, who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London, finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive, Hester Shaw. Two opposites whose paths should never have crossed forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.
