What’s new at the movies
Nu Metro The Glen has a brand new 3D release premiering in their fully immersive Xtreme cinema this week: Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Enter a world filled with mystery, suspense, adventure and magical fantasy, retelling one of the world’s most classic stories with spectacular effect on the big screen.
Tyler Perry is a guaranteed box office winner with his unique blend of drama and laugh-out-loud comedy. His new film, Nobody’s Fool (starring Tiffany Haddish, Tika Sumpter and Whoopi Goldberg), is the other new release at Nu Metro The Glen.
And, if you are still hungry for some good horror thrills after Halloween, we strongly recommend that you support the new South African production, The Tokoloshe.
The Nutcracker and The Four Realms (7-9PG V)
All Clara wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice, and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger, to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.

Nobody’s Fool (16 DLS)
Trying to get back on her feet, wild child Tanya looks to her buttoned-up, by-the-book sister, Danica, to help her get back on track. As these polar opposites collide, with hilarious and sometimes disastrous results, Tanya discovers that Danica’s picture-perfect life, including her mysterious boyfriend, may not be what it seems.

The Tokoloshe (16 HSV)
Busi, a destitute young woman with dangerously repressed emotions, lands a job as a cleaner at a rundown hospital in the heart of Johannesburg. Desperate for the money so she can bring her younger sister to Johannesburg, she must cope despite the predatory and corrupt hospital manager. When Busi discovers an abandoned young girl in the hospital, who believes herself to be tormented by a supernatural force, Busi must face her own demons from her past in order to save the child from the abusive monster that pursues them both relentlessly.
