7 ANIMAL Protection Network (APN), in partnership with the Brackenhurst Veterinary Clinic, is calling out to the community to please donate money towards the sterilisation of pets from underprivileged households, in an attempt to reduce breeding. On October 7, APN Alberton is doing their second Spayathon with the Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital doctors and staff. The pets they will be sterilising are from underprivileged, homeless or unemployed households and even though they are asking only R300 to sterilise a pet, it has been noted that some folk still cannot afford to pay this.

Donations of food, collars, leads, blankets, and snacks to feed the owners who will be waiting with their pets on the day will also be more than welcome. Contact Zuerina Venter on 082 850 9842 if you would like to donate or have any questions.

1 ALBERTON SPCA is holding its annual golf day on November 1 with a shotgun start at noon. The event will take place at the Reading Country Club and registrations will open at 10am.
